Glenn Peterson, Trustee Place 5

"I do it for the kids. I've always said that my job is to be a voice for the people of the district--students first, and then the teachers and the taxpayers. I love it!"

Glenn Peterson, Sr. is a proud native Bastropian and deeply committed to his family and his community. After a successful career of 31 years with the U.S. Postal Service, Glenn retired, but like many retirees, he finds himself busier now more than ever.

Mr. Peterson and his wife DeAnna have three sons, all of whom are products of Bastrop ISD schools. Their oldest Quincy is a Huston Tillotson University graduate with Glenn, Jr. following right behind. He is a sophomore at the university and a W.E.B. Dubois Scholar. Their youngest is Alex, who is a senior at Bastrop High School.

Glenn has served on the Planning and Zoning Board, Historical Landmark Committee, and Kerr Community Center Board. He is a devout Christian and believes that working together to accomplish goals is what makes schools and communities successful. He is serving his fourth term as a school board trustee.
