Transitional Bilingual /Early Exit Model:
The district shall implement this model in grades Pre-Kindergarten through 6th. Instruction in the four content areas shall be delivered based on the collective linguistic needs of the students as determined by TELPAS, STAAR, and district and common based assessments. Instruction for language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies may be delivered in both English and Spanish.
ESL (English as a Second Language)Education:
ESL Content-based Program (Elementary and Intermediate Level)
ESL Pull-Out Program (Middle and High School Level)
An ESL pull-out program model shall be implemented that serves only students identified as English Language Learners in grades 7th through 12th grade. This model requires ESL instruction in Language Arts/English classrooms only.
