The Bastrop Independent School District Technology Department is committed to supporting the district mission through innovative, student centered technologies that motivate and ignite passion for life-long learning.  District technologies support teachers and allow students to compete globally by engaging students in diverse, relevant, and rigorous learning experiences.
Innovation
The Bastrop ISD Technology Department focuses on innovation.  From implementing iPads to interactive white boards, we work to provide the most innovative tools for our teachers and students.  Students have opportunities to participate in robotics, web design, animation, and programming classes.  Students may collaborate via an internal district Google Apps account to publish digital content.  Teachers have access to anytime, anywhere, interactive professional development through our online moodle courses.  Through these tools and training we continuously strive to create an environment where technology facilitates the needs of 21st century learners.

Infrastructure
The Bastrop ISD Technology Department manages district-wide infrastructure that connects over 5000 devices with each other and the internet.  Wired and wireless devices such as, desktop, laptops, projectors, iPods, iPads, and handhelds are utilized to allow district students access to a world of knowledge.  Every campus in our district has wireless access and every teacher has access to a laptop and digital projector.  Communication is facilitated by voice-over IP phone systems, district email, video conferencing units, online broadcasts, and district video boards.  Additionally, an open system that incorporates multiple platforms, including apple and Windows, into our learning environments has been implemented to assist the district in achieving its mission.
