Student Teaching & Observation
Bastrop ISD welcomes student teachers and observers during the school year and summer. To request a placement for student teaching, or with help in finding observation hours, please contact Diana Greene, Talent Acquisition and Development Administrator, at 512-772-7122 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Before being allowed to observe or student teach, you will be required to complete a volunteer application and have that on file along with a photo ID. Upon completion and return of the form, the district will run a Criminal History background check.
All student teacher candidates must be entering the final semester of the teacher preparation program; and, upon successful completion of student teaching and any other program requirements, be eligible for a Texas Standard Teaching Certificate. Bastrop ISD does not place student teachers in paid internship assignments.
Upon approval and placement, all student teachers will be issued a Bastrop ISD identification badge. Badges must be worn at all times while on the assigned campus.
