My name is Katie Hellums and I am a native Bastropian. I graduated from Bastrop High School in 2003 and from Texas State University-San Marcos in 2008 with a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies EC-4. After graduation I substituted for Bastrop ISD for a year. I was then hired as a Title 1 Assistant. I taught small group math intervention for two years. After that, I taught First and Second grade with a total of six years in the classroom. I am now the Current RTI Lead and teach reading strategies for grades K-4. I am married to my wonderful husband of seven years, Aaron Hellums. We have three children, Karly (Second Grade), Riley (First Grade) and Josephine (daycare). We reside in Cedar Creek, TX. We enjoy going fishing, boating, and taking our annual beach trip to Galveston in the summer. My family is amazing and I enjoy their company with every waking moment. I am looking forward to a productive and wonderful year with your kiddos!!!
