I have been teaching art at Cedar Creek Middle school since we opened the building in 2000. Before this I taught art at Bastrop High School where I learned a lot from my fellow art teachers. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art Education from Harding Christian University in Searcy, Arkansas and completed my Masters in drawing and painting from the Academy of Art University in August of 2018. I am married and have two daughters who went through Bastrop ISD schools. One is teaching art at the school for the blind in Little Rock, Arkansas and the other is working on her masters in family counseling. I am very proud of them and they have a lot of artistic talent so your child may see examples created by them when they were their age. I also create some artwork outside of school. I love to paint portraits and landscapes in oils. I have had two solo exhibitions and worked collaboratively on two published works.I hope to instill a strong work ethic in your child and encourage them to use their talents in a positive way.
