• My name is Vikki Estes.  This is my 7th year teaching in Bastrop ISD at Mina Elementary.  I am a 3rd grade teacher.  Prior to moving to Bastrop, I taught 4th grade math and science at Jim Ned CISD in Tuscola, Texas for 12 years.  I have also previously taught in Moran, Ralls, and Abilene Wylie.  I graduated high school from Coahoma High School and went to college in San Angelo, Texas at Angelo State University.  I have degrees in Elementary Education and all level Music.  My husband Jeff and I have 3 children.  Jackson, 23, is the computer teacher at Mina Elementary after working as a pharmacy tech at Walgreens.  David, 22, is a UT graduate and just moved to New York City.  Our daughter Grace, 18, is attending Molloy College in Long Island, New York and CAP21 in New York City with dreams of making it big on Broadway one day.

I love the challenge of teaching a STAAR testing grade.  It is very important to me to build personal relationships with all of my students.  Building on that relationship make for a great learning environment.  We start every day with a community circle so that students can share with the class.  We become a family.
