  • Hi, my name is James G. Braswell, and I'm priviledged to teach Honors and AP Chemisty at Bastrop High School. I have a bachelor's degree in biology from Virginia Military Institute and a master's degree from Troy State Univeristy.  I am certified to teach Secondary Composite Science (6-12) and I am also certified in English as a Second Language. I have taught at BHS for 8 years and at Elgin ISD for 12 years previously.  Teaching is my second career for I spent 23 years in the USAF flying F-4 Phantom fighters.  I retired from the USAF in 2001.  I'm married with one son, a beautiful daughter-in-law, and 2 grandsons....
