My name is Kristan Gagne, and I am thrilled to be a part of the Cedar Creek Intermediate family!  I am coming on as the English Language Arts/Reading and Social Studies Instructional Coach.  I help guide and collaborate with your child's ELAR and SS teachers so that they can guide and collobarate with your child to be the best learner they can be!

This is my 25th year in education, and I've taught pretty much everything from Kinder (a FEW days) all the way up to ACT tutoring... My main areas have been middle ages ELAR and intervention for reading.  I have been on many leadership teams, and I look forward to spending time growing with the team here at CCI!

I have two adult daughters, one is working on her degree at Texas State to become a Special Education teacher the one by me in the first picture; the other is working on her degree in business with a future goal in advocacy and work with non-profits.  My husband is a retired assistant principal so he can relate to my long hours and gives me amazing support and feedback in my own learning and practices.  We are 'newlyweds' since we just got married in 2018, and my oldest daughter just got engaged (the couple in the middle of the first picture). My gorgeous 'other daughter'--the brunette, is my niece who is off to college this Fall; she will be majoring in musical theater!

My philosophy is that we're always a space for learning (no matter our age) and we all develop in our own way!  Baby steps for some may be great leaps for others!

If you have any questions or concerns about ELAR, the curriculum, or resources... the best way to contact me is through email: kgagne@bisdtx.org
