Attendance notifications will be sent via ParentSquare.

Absence notes can be submitted by:

• Emailing your campus: (All email addresses can be found online here.)
• Sending a notes with your student to the campus.

Please include the following information in your note or email about your child's absence:

• FIRST and LAST name

• Grade & Student ID Number (if known)

• Date of Absence(s)

• Reason for Absence

• Parent's Name and Contact Information

Bastrop ISD provides chromebook devices for all students and we need parent partnership to support the effort. The BISD Protection Plan is an affordable way to ensure that families are protected in the event of accident, damage, theft, or loss.

The Bastrop Protection Plan fee is $25 for the first child in the household and $15 for each additional child. If a student had no claims last school year, their protection plan fee will carry over for one year only. We've made it easy to pay the fee online, just click the link below:

Need bus transportation for your student?
Be sure to mark that option when completing registration in Skyward. Bus route details will be available in Skyward and shared via email the week of August 4.

Track the location of your child's bus through the SafeStop app!

All Bastrop ISD students will receive free breakfast and lunch during the 2025–26 school year.

BISD campuses are part of the Community Eligibility Program (CEP) through the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs, which allows us to serve meals to all students at no cost.

Immunizations

Is your child up to date on all immunizations required to start school? Visit bisdtx.org/shots for more information on immunization requirements. If your student receives immunizations over the summer, please email them to vaccines@bisdtx.org

Medication/Health Forms

A doctor’s order is required for any medications brought to school, both prescription and over the counter. If you need to request a doctor’s order, we encourage you to do so during the summer to make sure you have the necessary documentation as we start the school year. Visit bisdtx.org/medication to print the Physician Authorization form.

Bastrop ISD uses ParentSquare for school communication. Parents have the option to enroll for email, text and/or app notifications in their selected language. ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent, using their preferred email address and phone number. 

We encourage parents to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their language preferences. Check out more information online at [ParentSquare Page Link].

School supply lists for each grade level can be found at the link below.  

If your school is not listed, don’t worry! School supply lists for each specific class will be provided the first week of school. To be prepared, we encourage students to bring basic supplies such as a pencil, pen, and notebook on the first day.

A volunteer application must be completed and approved if you plan to attend school field trips with your student.
