Kevin Hans Named Principal of Mina Elementary
Bastrop ISD has named Kevin Hans as the principal of Mina Elementary School, home to over 700 students and more than 80 faculty and staff. He will assume the position in the coming days.
“I’m incredibly excited to join the Mina Elementary community. The legacy of this campus runs deep, and it’s an honor to be part of that story. I’m looking forward to working alongside such a dedicated team, connecting with families, and continuing the great work already happening. Mina has a strong foundation, and I’m excited to build on it together!”
Hans comes to Bastrop ISD with a strong background in educational leadership. He most recently served as the Principal of Karnes City Primary in Karnes City ISD, a school that became a Capturing Kids Hearts National Showcase School under his leadership. Before that, he held the role of Assistant Principal at Karnes City Primary and Roger E. Sides Elementary. His experience also includes serving as a Master Teacher at the Advanced Learning Academy and an Instructional Coach at Baskin Elementary, both in San Antonio ISD. Earlier in his career, Hans worked in Judson ISD as an RTI Facilitator and Assistant Principal.
“We are thrilled to welcome Kevin Hans as the new principal of Mina Elementary. His positive leadership and dedication to student success make him an outstanding fit! I am confident he will continue the strong traditions at Mina and lead them towards academic excellence for all students. We look forward to officially welcoming him to our BISD family,” said Jennifer Eberly, Chief Academic Officer.
Kevin holds a master’s degree in education administration from Concordia University and a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Sciences from the University of Texas at Austin.
He enjoys traveling, especially to Disney World, working on creative projects, and exploring local coffee shops in his free time.
