Jennifer Eberly named Bastrop ISD Chief Academic Officer

(BASTROP, TX) - Jennifer Eberly has been named the Chief Academic Officer for Bastrop Independent School District and will begin her new role effective immediately. Eberly has served as the District’s Director of Teaching and Learning since joining Bastrop ISD in 2022.
“Jennifer brings a wealth of experience in public education at both the campus and district levels,” said Superintendent Barry Edwards. “Her expertise will be instrumental in driving our programs forward, and her dedication to serving the district and the students of Bastrop ISD will ensure we continue providing exceptional educational opportunities for all."
Eberly has 22 years of experience in public education and instructional leadership at both the district and campus levels. Prior to joining Bastrop ISD, she served as the Principal for Hillcrest Elementary in Del Valle ISD. She also has experience as an Instructional Administrator as well as teaching experience from kindergarten through sixth grade.
“I am honored to continue serving the students, staff, and families of BISD in this new role,” said Eberly. “Over the past year, we have launched numerous academic initiatives, and I am excited to lead our efforts in providing high-quality instruction as we move into the next phase of our work.”
Eberly has a Master of Education from Lamar University in educational administration and a Bachelor of Arts from Texas State University. Her State Board for Educator Certifications (SBEC) include principal, special education, elementary self-contained and English as a second language (ESL).
Jennifer and her husband Derek have three children. In their spare time, they enjoy spending time with their family and being outdoors.
