Candice Pyles Named Principal of Emile Elementary
Bastrop ISD has named Candice Pyles to serve as the principal of Emile Elementary School. She will assume the position in the coming weeks as she transitions from her current role. Emile Elementary is home to approximately 600 students and more than 70 faculty and staff.
“I am incredibly honored and excited to step into the role of Principal at Emile Elementary. It is a privilege to join a school community with such a rich history, strong traditions, and a deep commitment to student success,” said Pyles. “I look forward to building on the amazing work already in place, supporting our dedicated staff, and partnering with families to ensure every child thrives.”
Pyles brings over 10 years of experience in education. She most recently served as Assistant Principal at Camino Real Elementary in Bastrop ISD. Prior to that, she was an Instructional Specialist in Lamar CISD, where she also held roles as a Math Coach and Summer School Principal. Pyles began her teaching career in Lamar CISD, teaching at both the elementary and middle school levels. Over the course of her career, she has gained valuable experience in grant writing, staffing, curriculum development, student discipline, and the creation of professional development programs.

We are confident that under her leadership, Emile Elementary students and staff will be empowered to achieve their highest potential,” said Chief Academic Officer Jennifer Eberly.
Candice holds a master’s degree in educational leadership from Sam Houston State University and a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Houston.
She and her husband Joseph, have three children, all of whom attend schools in Bastrop ISD. They love hiking the trails as a family in their free time.
