Kelly Hubley Promoted to Principal at Red Rock Elementary
July 8, 2019
(Bastrop) – Kelly Hubley, who has served as the assistant principal of Red Rock Elementary School since 2015, will assume the top leadership role at that campus effective immediately. She replaces Laura Krcmar, who resigned last month to accept an elementary principal position in Manor ISD.
“Earlier this year, Kelly served as the Interim Principal in the spring semester while the principal was on maternity leave,” said Edwards. “She stepped up to the plate in tremendous fashion, and we took notice. I am pleased that we are placing Red Rock in her trustworthy hands, and I am confident she will be the right leader at the right time to lead that campus to new heights.”
Previously, Hubley was a counselor at Mina Elementary. From 2009 to 2012, she served in leadership roles at Brown Primary in Smithville ISD, including special education department chair, 504 coordinator, technology coordinator, and ESL coordinator. Prior to administration, Hubley taught special education classes at Smithville Junior High. From 1999 to 2005, she was a clinical therapist and in private practice as a licensed professional counselor.
“Red Rock has been my home these last several years, and I am honored to be chosen as the principal,” said Hubley. “The staff, students, and parents are wonderful to work with, and I am confident we will have a tremendous year together as a team. Our theme for 2019-2020 is Launching a Future of Possibilities, and what better way to start than launching my own future as the leader of Red Rock Elementary!”
Hubley holds a master’s degree from Sam Houston State University and a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University in College Station. She is certified in Texas as a principal, counselor and classroom teacher.
This fall the campus will welcome nearly 620 students in pre-kindergarten through fourth grade. In addition, Red Rock is one of two campuses in Bastrop ISD to offer full-day pre-k beginning in 2019-2020.
