Balderas Named Director of Communications & Marketing
Cassie Balderas has been named the Director of Communications & Marketing for Bastrop ISD. She will begin her position immediately.
"I am thrilled to join the Bastrop ISD family! I look forward to being a part of all of the amazing things happening at BISD and the opportunity to share our District's stories and successes. I am committed to serving the District with a strong focus on building relationships and collaborating with all stakeholders," said Balderas.
Balderas most recently served as the public information officer for the City of Pflugerville and the Pflugerville Police Department. Prior to that role, she served as communications coordinator for the Pflugerville Independent School District. She began her career in Hutto ISD as a communications specialist in 2014 and worked to improve internal and external communications, coordinate enrollment marketing campaigns, and assist in the development of bond information campaigns.
“We are excited to welcome Cassie to Bastrop ISD,” said Deputy Superintendent Kristi Lee. “With a background in school public relations and a heart for public schools, she will be a tremendous asset to the communications team and help propel the District forward in serving our students, staff and families.”
Balderas holds a bachelor’s degree in digital media and professional communication from Texas Tech University. Cassie and her husband, Stephen, are both Central Texas natives and advocates of public education. They have a large blended family with six children ranging in age from 15 to 25, along with their dog, Briggs.
