2024 Solar Eclipse
The Solar Eclipse is just around the corner and we are excited to experience this unique educational opportunity with our students. Although Bastrop ISD is located outside the path of totality, we're still gearing up for a deep partial eclipse, with some areas in our district expecting up to 99.8% coverage of the sun.
April 8 is a regular school day and each campus has created schedules and plans tailored to their specific needs. Eclipse glasses will be provided for all students that are participating. If you have questions or require further details about the plans that day, please reach out to your child's campus.
The district is aware that there will likely be an increase in traffic and visitors commuting to and through our area on the day of the eclipse. We encourage families to prepare for potential delays and be patient. Please note that our buses may also experience delays due to any increased traffic.
