Dr. Augustina Lozano will serve as the inaugural Principal at Camino Real Elementary. She has over 23 years of experience in education of which 14 years have been in Bastrop ISD. Dr. Lozano has also had the privilege of serving as an Adjunct Professor and Visiting Professor at the University of Houston in the College of Education. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication from Angelo State University, a Master’s degree in Education Administration from Concordia University at Austin, and a Ph.D. in Public School Administration from Texas A&M University at College Station. Dr. Lozano strongly believes in the work of public education and the responsibility of ensuring every student finds success through school.

Dr. Lozano and her husband of over 27 years reside in Bastrop. Their son graduated from Bastrop ISD in May 2020, and their daughter will be a senior in high school in August 2023. Outside of school, Dr. Lozano enjoys spending time with her family, watching movies, and cheering on her favorite sports teams.
