Hello! My name is Emily Tawater, and I am SO very lucky to be a 3rd grade teacher at Lost Pines Elementary. This is my 7th year teaching, and my 17th year working with BISD. Prior to being in a classroom, I coordinated our after school tutoring programs. I live in Bastrop with my husband and our two children. Our daughter is in kindergarten here at LPE, and my son is in second.
I love teaching, and couldn't imagine spending my days doing anything else! I believe children learn best when they feel respected and safe, so my classroom atmosphere always supports that. Learning Goals This Month:
Math- We will be working on place value and comparing numbers up to 100,000.
Reading- We will be developing strong reading habits, and improving our reading stamina/fluency.
Writing- We will learn how to plan a first draft, and brainstorm ideas.
Science- We will explore what a scientist does, and how to conduct experiments.
Social Studies- We will look at different communities, and what it means to be a good citizen.
