Superintendent Barry Edwards welcomed representatives from Baylor University's Texas Hunger Initiative to Bastrop ISD in celebration of National School Breakfast Week. They visited four campuses to recognize them for their outstanding success increasing the number of children participating in school breakfast.
The Bastrop ISD Communications Department was recognized by the Texas School Public Relations Association during its annual conference February 18-21. BISD earned five Gold awards, two Silver awards, and one bronze award for its efforts in advertising, planning, feature writing, and video production. The department also earned two Best of Category medals.
Elementary and intermediate school students from Bastrop ISD recently presented their science projects at the Austin Energy Regional Science Festival held at the Palmer Events Center, one of the largest science fairs in Texas. Learn more about their outstanding results!
Parents are invited to review the textbooks and related resources that are being considered for district-wide adoption by BISD for K-8 English Language Arts and Reading. The textbooks and related resources are available to examine at the BISD Service Center at 906 Farm Street on February 19 from 8:00 am to 6:30 pm and on February 20-22 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
