Hello 4th Graders!
I'm Ms. Reid and I will be your leader on this learning adventure.
This will be my second year teaching English Language Arts and Social Studies. I began teaching in Bastrop back in 2009 as a substitute and was hired as a Kindergarten teacher at Lost Pines in 2012. Since then, I have taught 2nd Grade and GT. Last year, I decided to move to Emile and love it!
I am a native Texan born and raised in Austin and now, reside in Cedar Creek. I graduated from the University of Texas with a BS in Home Economics. When living in California, I was an Education Specialist at Happy Hollow Park and Zoo in San Jose. Upon returning home, I decided to get my teaching certification.
I'm married with two stepchildren and one grandson. I am passionate about animals and have a small menagerie with dogs, cats, a horse, donkey, mini-mule and Madagascar hissing cockroaches. My husband and I enjoy traveling, especially in Ireland and hopefully soon, Scotland and Iceland.
I am looking forward to sharing my love of learning with our 4th graders. My greatest desire is to ignite the spark which will light a child's desire to be a critical thinker and a life-long learner.
