The Colorado River Collegiate Academy provides a unique opportunity for students of the Bastrop Independent School District. I am enjoying my role as assistant principal at the campus for the sixth year as it affords me the opportunity to support the staff and students. I am amazed daily by the rigor in the classrooms, the conversations among the students, and the dedication of the teachers. Students who graduate from the Colorado River Collegiate Academy have the opportunity to earn an Associate’s Degree from Austin Community College while also earning a high school diploma.
I have enjoyed my work in education over the last twenty-eight years. I began my teaching career in Canutillo ISD and West Oso ISD teaching fifth and sixth grades. I came to Bastrop ISD in 1995 at Bastrop Intermediate School as a teacher and, later, as a curriculum facilitator. I have been in administration as the assistant principal at Cedar Creek Middle school from 2000 to 2003 and as principal of Cedar Creek Intermediate from 2004 to 2017. I earned my BA in Elementary Education with a specialization in special education from Texas Tech University and my Masters in Education Administration from Prairie View A & M.
I am a proud parent of a college student at Texas A & M; with that being said, I highly recommend CRCA. I also have two other daughters who attend school in Bastrop. If I can be of assistance, you may click here to email me at sadams@bisdtx.org.
