This will be my first year with Bastrop ISD but my 16th year in education. I am extremely excited to have the opportunity to work for Bastrop ISD and especially Bastrop Middle School. I have been visiting Bastrop for the last 15 years to camp, hike, and paddleboard and fell in love with the people. I have wanted to move here for years and look forward to working with the amazing students, staff, families, and community to make BMS the best!
I received my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Oklahoma. I have a Master’s in Business Administration with a Data Analytics concentration from Lousiana State University-Shreveport and my Master’s in Educational Leadership from Lamar University. I have been a Science teacher and a coach at both the middle and high school levels, holding a special place in my heart for middle school students. I am certified in Composite Science, Life Science, Generalist 4-8, Art, Physical Education, Special Education, and Principal.
In my free time, I love to enjoy the outdoors either hiking, biking, paddle boarding, rock climbing, rappelling, canyoneering, and just adventuring. I love to travel, see new things, learn new things, and experience new things. I have one son who is 25 and works in Colorado as a Wildfire Fireman. He was in the Marines before starting this adventure, and I am super proud to be his mom. He loves hunting, fishing, rafting, surfing, snowboarding, mountain biking, rock climbing, hiking, and camping. I don’t think he is afraid of anything. He loves to adventure as much, if not more, than I do.
Continuing to learn and grow is a top priority for me, and I hope to instill this passion in our students and staff. I am excited and blessed for the opportunity to work in this district!
