Chris Lairscey named Director of Digital Learning & Library Services

Chris Lairscey has been named the Director of Digital Learning & Library Services for Bastrop ISD. In this role, he will lead the District’s digital learning initiatives, focusing on the successful integration of technology into instruction to enhance teaching and learning. He will also work to elevate the District’s library spaces with a focus on future-ready opportunities for BISD students.
“I am so excited to contribute in new ways to the mission and vision of Bastrop ISD,” said Lairscey. “I will operate with our students' future as my focus as we continue to enhance and innovate our classroom and library practices across the district. The Bastrop ISD family and community has been overwhelmingly supportive, and I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to make an impact in this new role.”
Lairscey has dedicated the past 10 years of his career to innovative teaching practices that improve student outcomes, and he has a strong background in instructional leadership, blended learning, and educational technology. Most recently he served as the Digital Learning Specialist for Bastrop ISD. Prior to that, he served Austin ISD as a Blended Learning Leader and Technology Design Specialist.

"With his ability to connect all the pieces of digital learning, Chris is poised to play a key role in shaping our future success of the department and district."
Lairscey attended the University of Texas where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics, and he is currently pursuing his Master of Education in Educational Technology from Texas State University.
