Bastrop ISD will resume a normal schedule for Wednesday, January 17. We are looking forward to seeing our students and staff back at school.
Monday, January 15, 2024 @ 3:44 pm
As promised in our communication on Friday, we have been monitoring weather and road conditions throughout the long weekend. Given continued low temperatures, combined with wind gusts and subzero wind chill, we have determined it is in the best interest of student and staff safety to close schools for Tuesday, January 16.
We will make a decision about Wednesday's schedule sometime tomorrow.
Calvary Episcopal Church Parish Hall in Bastrop remains an option for a warming center should families need to take advantage of that. It will be open 7pm to 7am. In addition, In The Streets Hands Up High Ministry (Pastor Nava's on Highway 95) will also be open for assistance.
Please keep yourselves safe and warm, and be sure to check on your neighbors, friends and family members while we endure this cold snap! We will be back together soon!
