Dual Credit
The Dual Credit program offers students an opportunity to take college courses for FREE during high school. Students are able to earn both high school and college credit for these classes. This option becomes available to students after completing their freshman year. Each semester they are able to enroll in up to 3 ACC courses. We offer courses during the school day at BHS. Typically, these include Effective Learning Strategies for College Success, Introduction to Communications, Composition I, Composition II, British Literature, US History I, US History II, US Government, Principles of Macroeconomics, Introduction to Sociology, Elementary Statistics, and Life on Earth. These courses are subject to change depending on the needs of the students. If students want to go to an ACC campus to take a course at night or take one online, they are also able to do this (with a fee of $150 per course).
More information on eligibility and the enrollment process can be found at austincc.edu/dual.
