Since I arrived at BHS six years ago,  I've been the Head Volleyball Coach. I was also the head coach for six years at Canyon Lake High School. I have been an athletic coordinator for five years in Bastrop and four years at my previous school, Canyon Lake High School. I'm very passionate about education and sports. In the classroom, you have the ability to help a student grow and learn. On the court, you have the ability to teach them about teamwork, personal responsibility, and sportsmanship.

My biggest passion is my family. I have four kids, Halley 21 (college Senior at Norfolk State University in Virginia,) Crystal 14 (incoming freshman at BHS) Treycee 10, (5th grade at BIS) Mason 6, (Kinder at Mina ) I've been married to my husband Trey for 16 years.

David McIntyre, Assistant Principal

  • I am excited to be a part of the Bastrop Independent School District for the 2019-20 school year.

I can't wait to meet everyone and learnphoto of David McIntyre  how I can best help support staff throughout the district.  I just finished my 12th year as an administrator and my 22nd year in education.  I come to you from South Carolina where I have been a high school assistant principal for the last five years at the largest school in my county.  Prior to that position, I was an administrator in California for four years and a teacher for ten.

I am blessed to have two wonderful daughters.  My oldest daughter Kaylia attends Southern Wesleyan University in South Carolina on an academic-golf scholarship, and my youngest daughter Gabriela will be starting her junior year this school term.   I am engaged to Andrea Wright, a practicing physician in Austin and we will be getting married in October.  I am honored to be serving the district as an assistant principal at Bastrop High School, and I know everyone's 2019-2020 school year is going to be fantastic.
