Tawater Promoted to Director of PEIMS & Data Quality
Chris Tawater has been promoted to the position of Director of PEIMS & Data Quality. Tawater has served as the district’s Testing and Data Analysis Coordinator since 2020.
“We are excited to have Chris take on this new role for Bastrop ISD. His experience and knowledge will continue to be an asset for our district and will help guide us in best practices for data acquisition, management, and analysis,” said Dina Edgar, Chief Financial Officer.
Tawater has over 18 years of experience in public schools, including technology implementation, enterprise management systems, technical expertise, business intelligence, and data quality.
“As a product of Bastrop ISD, I’m excited for the opportunity to continue serving the community and school district where I grew up and where my own children now attend,” said Chris.
Tawater began his career at Bastrop ISD in 2004 as an ACE Site Coordinator. He continued his career with BISD advancing from an Applications Technician to Applications Manager to Student Information Systems Analyst. He then began a term in Manor ISD as the district’s Information Systems & Data Coordinator (15-16) then the Director of Student Information Services (16-20).
Tawater has a bachelor of science degree from the University of Phoenix in information technology and business analytics. Tawater is a certified Texas School Business Specialist through the Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO). Tawater has served as the chair and vice chair of curriculum for the TASBO PEIMS research committee and frequently serves as a certified course instructor.
