WELCOME TO BHS CHOIR!
WHO WE ARE
Bastrop High School Choir is a community of students who not only love to sing, but love to share their singing with others. BHS Choir is open to all students and always accepting new members!
WHAT WE DO
BHS Choir presents at least 3 formal concerts every year, including a Fall Concert, Spring Concert, and Holiday Concert. We also perform in informal setting and compete in the UIL state Concert & Sight Reading evaluation every Spring. We also spend quite a bit of time building our singing community through team-building exercises, games, and choir retreats!
HOW WE DO IT
Throughout the school year, we learn the basics of healthy singing, music theory, performance technique, and other important performing skills. Every day we rehearse during class a set of repertoire that is diverse, challenging, and fun! We also hold after-school rehearsals and choir retreats to build our sense of community as well as refine our choral singing skills.
WHY WE DO IT
Here at BHS Choir, we believe that singing is unique and powerful way to express the things we just can't put into words. Our love of singing and sharing that singing with each other drives our passion to share choral music with our friends, family, and community.
