Hello and Welcome to my Teacher's Page!

My name is Ms. Emily Soto and this will be my 3rd year here at CCHS! I look over the Education pathway and I'm also the FCCLA advisor.  

Just a little about what I teach: The Education & Training pathway is for students who are interested in becoming teachers, coaches, principals, or any profession that involves children. The program allows students the chance to learn the ins and outs of education and how to teach students effectively. (For example, students learn how to lesson plan, manage student behavior, learn how to create anchor charts, etc.) Students who take the required courses and pass are eligible to receive an Educational Aide I certificate. This certificate allows our students to work as teachers' aides after they graduate high school. 

This year, I will be teaching Principles of Education, Human Growth & Development, and my favorite Instructional Practices/Practicum! I'm super excited to be teaching these courses and excited to see returning and new faces!

I am also the advisor for FCCLA! FCCLA helps our students build leadership skills, explore FCS career opportunities, and helps them grow professionally. Students also compete locally and nationally at leadership events. FCCLA members are able to apply to many local and national scholarships.
