Welcome to CCE Library!
Where We Read, Think, and Create
My name is Amanda Rushing and I am the librarian here at CCE. I began a career in education in 2005 teaching 8th grade US History after I graduated from Sam Houston State University with a major in History. Since then, I have gone back and obtained a Master's Degree in Library Science from SHSU as well. With that degree, I have continued working in various educational settings, such as the Melnar Geneaology Library, Lonsestar College Library, George Ranch Historical Park as well as a librarian in public schools. I am also a certified Project Lead the Way teacher. This is my 6th year as librarian here at CCE. This year, students will visit the library every other week with their class. When they come, we will have fun and engageing information literacy lessons and give students a chance to check out new reading material. I am thrilled to serve as the librarian here at CCE because I believe that reading is one of the most important gifts we can give a child. As I tell my students: If you can read, you can do anything, because there has been a book written to teach just about everything.
