Who is the Citizens Advisory Task Force?
The Citizens Advisory Task Force (CATF) is a diverse group of 64 men and women who represent all parts of our community. They are parents, grandparents, business owners, civic leaders, clergy, retirees, and others who are invested in the success of our children and our school district. Over the next four months, the CATF will meet regularly to hear presentations and digest data and information related to demographics, school finance, teaching and learning, facilities and educational adequacy assessment results, and more. In addition, the team will tour various facilities to gain a complete understanding of the immediate and long-term needs of the district. The work of the CATF is crucial to the sustainability and expansion of our facilities and programs, to improving property values, to addressing overall growth of the community, and to the quality of eduction in our district.
The CATF will meet from 5:30 to 8:30 pm on October 7 and 21, November 4 and 18, December 2 and 16, and January 6 and 13. Following each meeting of the CATF, any presentations and materials distributed to the group will be posted here for the public to access. In addition, we will maintain an ongoing list of frequently asked questions and answers and post them on this page. If you have any questions about the CATF or the work of this important committee, please either use the "Let's Talk!" form below or contact Dr. Kristi Lee, Executive Director of Communications & Community Relations, at klee@bisdtx.org or 512-772-7106.
