Attendance Zones Approved for 2025-2026 School Year
The Bastrop ISD Board of Trustees has approved new elementary and middle school attendance boundaries, effective for the 2025-26 school year. These adjustments accommodate the opening of Adelton Elementary and the transition of our intermediate schools into middle schools (Creekside and Riverside Middle School).
To develop the new boundaries, BISD held multiple meetings with District leadership, campus leadership and Zonda, the District's demographer. The District then shared the proposed boundaries with families and the community, and held two public town hall events for individuals to ask questions and share feedback. The goal was to create school boundaries that are balanced in terms of student population, minimize neighborhood disruption, and that factor in transportation routes and needs.
Thank you to all of our families, staff and community for attending our town hall events and providing feedback! Elementary and middle school families impacted by these changes will receive direct communication with details about their assigned school zones.IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL FAMILIES
While construction is underway to transition our intermediate schools into full middle schools, we will temporarily adjust middle school boundary assignments for the 2025-26 school year:
- All 6th graders will attend Riverside or Creekside Middle School (formerly Bastrop and Cedar Creek Intermediate).
- All 8th graders will attend Bastrop or Cedar Creek Middle School.
- 7th graders will attend their assigned school based on the new boundaries.
Starting in 2026-27, all 6th-8th grade students will attend their middle school based on the new boundaries, as construction will be complete.

Changes to Attendance Zones
Bastrop ISD is a fast-growth district with enrollment throughout its boundaries fluctuating. When determining new attendance zones, administration and the Board take several important issues into account:
- Enrollment balance
- Future growth
- Financial impact
- Communities and feeder patterns
- Balance over/under capacity
- Special Program placement and enrollment
The boundary change process for Bastrop ISD includes a preliminary report by the administration, a series of public hearings addressing the changes for each affected campus, the recommendation of proposed changes as a discussion item to the Board, and finally, the consideration of proposed changes as an action item at a regular board meeting.
