BootUp 1:1 Technology Initiative
Beginning in the Fall of 2023, Bastrop ISD will launch the BootUp 1:1 Technology Initiative in which all 6th grade through 12th grade students will be assigned a Chromebook to use at school and home. The BootUp 1:1 Technology Initiative is designed to support the success of our students for their future. Students will benefit from this initiative by accessing high quality instructional materials and actively practicing good stewardship of technology in all aspects, including digital citizenship and general maintenance/device care. Students will be required to participate in the BISD Protection Plan for an annual cost of $25. To access the payment portal and purchase the BISD Protection Plan, click here.
Alignment to Curriculum & Instruction
The vision of the BootUp Technology Initiative is aligned to directly support the continuous improvement of the curriculum system to ensure that students receive guaranteed access to grade-level content and high-quality instruction on every campus, every day.
To ensure the use of technology and digital learning is not only in alignment to the Bastrop ISD Strategic Plan, it is also essential for this work to be in alignment with the goals of the State of Texas. Therefore, the following goals are direct alignment with the 2018-2025 Texas Education Agency (TEA) Technology Plan.
- Empowered Learning Environments: Empower instructional experiences with technology-rich learning environments to increase student achievement
- Digital Citizenship: Educate and reinforce responsible, safe, respectful, and legal use of technology
- Collaborative Leadership: Apply consensus-oriented decision making by multiple stakeholders to achieve shared goals
- Reliable Infrastructure: Monitor and maintain a robust and secure district-wide network to support the district’s technology initiative in elementary and secondary spaces
