Our Curriculum & Instruction Department is gathering resources to help students continue learning while at home during the school closure. For this first week (the week of March 23), we have kept things simple, knowing that not all of our students have computers at home and not all of our families have robust internet access. What we’ve provided could be done on a Smartphone. In the coming days, we will provide a link to the At-Home Learning Portal where students can access additional learning resources.
Week of March 30-April 3, 2020
Parents and Students, please visit our new Google At-Home Learning Site (https://sites.google.com/bisdtx.org/bisdathome/home) with all of this week's activities and resources by grade level.
Week of March 23-27, 2020
For the week of March 23-27, while our BISD instructional team is building out the learning resources portal, we recommend K-12 students spend a daily minimum of:
- 45 minutes on math activities
- 45 minutes-1 hour on English language arts and reading activities
- 25 minutes on science activities
- 20 minutes on social studies activities
Pre-K students should engage in learning activities for a minimum of 30 minutes a day.
Below is the email sent out to parents on March 19 with instructions for logging into the various learning platforms students can access.
