Copyright and Fair Use Rules

Students and staff are expected to follow copyright and fair use rules. Generally speaking, it is unlawful to use material without explicit permission from the original creator. There is some leeway for educational purposes, but it is better to be safe than sorry. Even in educational uses, pleading ignorance is not enough to protect you should someone file a legal grievance against your use of their material.
