District Performance Committee (DPC)
As required by Texas Education Code 11.251, Bastrop ISD has a district-level planning and decision-making committee called the District Performance Committee (DPC). The responsibility of the DPC is to advise the Board or its designee in establishing and reviewing the District's educational goals, objectives, and major district-wide classroom instructional programs. The committee serves exclusively in an advisory role except to approve staff development of a district-wide nature. The Superintendent regularly consults the committee in the planning, operation, supervision, and evaluation of the district and campus educational programs. The committee meets periodically with the Board or its designee to share its deliberations.
The DPC is made up of members who represent campus-based professional staff, district-level professional staff, parents, businesses, and the community. The Superintendent shall be the Board’s designee and shall name the chairperson of the committee from its members.
- 2/3 classroom teachers
- 1/3 other campus-level professional staff and district-level professional staff
- Minimum of 2 parents
- Minimum of 2 community members
- Minimum of 2 business representatives
- 1 secondary and 1 elementary principal, assistant/associate superintendent, selected directors/managers
