• Safely Returning to School

A global pandemic certainly has changed many aspects of our daily lives, from how we interact with our friends and neighbors to our grocery shopping habits to our hygiene and safety routines. We expect these changes to continue until we have a full and complete handle on COVID-19. Perhaps one of the greatest changes we anticipate going forward is how our children will be educated and what school might look like when we reopen for the fall semester. We at Bastrop ISD have been focused on that very thing because we know that safely bringing our staff and students back together benefits our children, our working parents, our community, and our economy.

With so much to consider, so many unknowns and daily updates regarding the pandemic, it is understandable that parents, students and staff have concerns about what the return to school will be like come August. We are listening closely to the Texas Education Agency, to Governor Abbott, to our state and local health authorities, to the UIL, and others. The updates from these agencies and organizations is changing rapidly.
