Planning for your child's education can be a serious undertaking, but it is never too early to begin. There are many things to consider when mapping out an education plan for your child. In BISD, we strive for all students to graduate college, career, or military ready!
Below is the link for the course description guides created as a resource to guide you through course selection as you and your child begin planning for their future. The course guides have information on graduation plans and requirements, college and career readiness, advanced academics, and programs of study.

Senate Bill 9 (SB 9) requires public schools to provide instruction to students relating to the prevention of child abuse, family violence, dating violence, and sex trafficking. SB 9 also requires public schools to obtain parent/guardian consent for students to receive this instruction.
With guidance from the School Health Advisory Council (SHAC), Bastrop ISD has approved the curriculum that will be used to teach each of these topics and have determined the grade level(s) that will receive instruction on each of these topics.
Before a student may be provided with instruction related to child abuse, family violence, dating violence, and sex trafficking, SB 9 requires that Bastrop ISD obtain written consent from the student’s parent/guardian. Parents/Guardians will complete the SB 9 Consent Form prior to a student receiving this instruction. Without written consent from a parent/guardian, students will not receive instruction related to child abuse, family violence, dating violence, or sex trafficking.
As a parent/guardian, you have the right to preview the curricula. If you have any questions or if you wish to review curriculum materials in advance of instruction, we encourage you to do so by reviewing the information below. You can click on the links in the table to locate the parent/guardian previews. Parent/guardian curricula previews can also occur at your child’s campus. Contact the campus counselor for more information.
