Work Related Injuries (Worker's Compensation)
-
Bastrop ISD provides Workers’ Compensation benefits through the Texas Association of School Boards Risk Management Fund (TASB). All work-related injury or illness must be reported even if you do not seek medical treatment. Once a claim is reported and submitted, your workers’ compensation benefits begin. This is the only medical benefit you may use for the treatment of your specific claim/injury, including medical examinations and medications.
All work-related injuries must be reported to your supervisor immediately and a First Report of Injury form must be completed online with TASB. There are specific providers you have to use for Workers' Compensation medical treatment. In the event of an emergency, the employee may choose any hospital of choice. The providers listed in the document below are on a walk-in basis and do not require an appointment for Workers' Comp incidents. Make sure to let the front desk know that you are there for a Workers' Comp incident. In the event you have to miss work due to your injury it is your responsibility to work with your supervisor and ensure your absences are entered.
If you have questions, please call the Leave & Benefits Specialist, Cindy Torres Vargas, at 512-772-7160 or ctorresvargas@bisdtx.org.
