Thank you for taking the time to visit the Bastrop ISD Police Department web page. We hope you’ll find the tabs and links informative and helpful. If there is something you’re looking for that you cannot locate, please contact us at 512-772-7143.
As your Chief of Police, it is an honor and a privilege to lead this department and to be a part of the communities we serve. Our team fully embraces Bastrop ISD’s number one priority to keep our students and staff safe, and to that end, we have made significant improvements over the last year in support of that mission.
We have expanded our police presence with additional staff and have elevated the training demands of the entire force. We also have improved and expanded our equipment and technology. Finally, we have continued to enhance the relationships we have with our area law enforcement partners. We feel confident that these improvements help to make our schools some of the safest in Texas.
We believe our schools should be genuine places of learning, where students grow academically, personally, and socially. We view our security and safety enhancements from that perspective, which is why we emphasize a commitment to building rapport and relationships with our students and their families, administrators, and community partners. Through these relationships and our enhanced security measures, we have the best chance of reducing violence in schools and keeping our students, staff, and guests safe.
Those of us who make up the Bastrop ISD Police Department are parents, neighbors, friends, and community members. We are invested in our schools and in our students. Going forward, we will continue to explore technology trends, implement best practices in school security, and most importantly, continue to strengthen relationships with all those whom we serve. By working together, we can secure our schools and keep our children safe.
